Pragmatic Partners is intended for children of school age to young adult. Pragmatic Partner groups allow children around the same age to interact, share ideas, knowledge, and improve communication skills. Therapists guide the children into discussion groups by initiating a topic of conversation and helping them build and maintain communication. Theses young adults practice repairing conversational breakdowns, using appropriate eye contact, and taking turns speaking. Therapists orchestrate and prompt the children who participate in Pragmatic Partners in order to help them learn and practice appropriate pragmatic skills for everyday situations.
