Samantha Kirschner graduated from Nova Southeastern University in August 2013 with her Masters in Occupational Therapy. Samantha is passionate about working with children and helping them overcome their challenges in order to function more independently. She is experienced in working with children with autism and specializes in Sensory Integration and Interactive Metronome.

Cynthia recently moved to south Florida from the Boston area where she completed her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy at Tufts University, studied child development at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and worked in Early Intervention with children 0 to 3 years old. Having worked in schools, clinics and home-based care, Cynthia brings diverse pediatric experience. She is a former first-grade teacher who prides herself on making learning and skill development fun for children of all ages and abilities, even handwriting and feeding! Cynthia specializes in feeding therapy and is trained in the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach for children 6 months to 6 years of age. She is passionate about routines-based intervention—helping parents to integrate therapeutic and strength-building activities for children into their everyday lives—and looks forward to working with you and your child!

Karina Yanez graduated from Keiser University in April 2008 with Associates degree in Occupational Therapy. In December 2011, Karina acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Supervision and Management from Broward College. She currently works at Breakthrough Therapy Services as a COTA-L, specializing in Sensory Integration, Astronaut Training, Therapeutic Listening, Interactive Metronome, Physical Dysfunction, Ocular Motor exercises, and Therasuit Therapy.

 

 

Kether Trice, COTA/L

Kether graduated in September of 2015 with an A.S. in Occupational Therapy Assisting. While being a parent and therapist she is continuing her education in the field of providing care, functional independence and education to special needs kids, adolescents, adults and their families. She is an empathetic and compassionate therapist with a background in Holistic approaches and Massage Therapy. Uses therapeutic strategies such as Sensory Integration and Behavioral Management.

Danica graduated from Keiser University in April 2015 with an Associates degree in Occupational Therapy. While pursuing and furthering her education, Danica is devoted to contribute to young children and adolescents’ daily lives. In the midst of constantly collaborating with parents and the staff at Breakthrough Therapy Services in Davie/Cooper City, it’s clear that she strives to assist children conquer daily obstacles and reach their full potential.

Lizzandra Valenciano graduated from Keiser University in December 2014 with her Associates degree in Occupational therapy. She  has experience working with kids and adolescents with autism, Down syndrome, developmental delay and cerebral palsy. Lizzandra’s greatest accomplishment have always been to help others and to make positive impact  in differently-abled children and their families, by helping them achieve their goals for a more independent life. Lizzandra is fluent in both English and Spanish .

Jazmin Awan graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 2007 with her Masters in Occupational Therapy.   She has been a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for the past 7 years in a variety of settings including schools, clinics and home.  She loves what she does and it is evident in her rapport with her clients.  Her flexibility and easy going nature is an essential quality in this field.   She is SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Test) certified and has training with Handwriting without Tears.  Jazmin is fluent in both English and Spanish

 

 

Sharon Wiegers, MS OTR/L, Occupational Therapist, Registered/Licensed

Sharon has been an OT for close to 15 years and has been working along side of Mrs. Bloom for over ten years. She has worked in a variety of adult and pediatric settings including hospitals, clinics and schools. Her passion and patience for working with children, is clear upon meeting her. She currently specializes in Early Intervention, working mainly in the Miami area. She also consults for Breakthrough Therapy and has been working closely with Mrs. Bloom on alternative curriculum and an application for wireless devices.
